Clarissa Schönecker is an assistant professor at the Technical University Kaiserslautern and a guest scientist at the Max Planck Institute for polymer research in Mainz, Germany. She studied mechanical and process engineering at the Technical University Kaiserslautern, Universidad Pública de Navarra (Spain) and Technical University Darmstadt (Germany). She received her PhD from the TU Darmstadt. Later, she joined the Max Planck Institute for Polymer research as a Postdoc and was a postdoctoral researcher in the Complex Fluids Group at Princeton University. Her work focusses on flow phenomena close to interfaces, especially structured surfaces, superhydrophobic surfaces and otherwise functionalized surfaces. It covers both flow measurements in the near-wall region and theoretical modeling of multi-physics flow phenomena.
